Divide hair into cleanly parted, brushed sections of 2" (5 cm).

For Straightening: Hold the iron horizontally. Secure the hair at the root and glide it gradually through to the ends, slightly angling it toward the face to prevent static.

For Curling: Hold the iron vertically. Clamp the hair midway through the section, then twist the iron 180 degrees away from your face and pull it forward through to the ends. The slower the pull, the tighter the curl. For waves, move through more swiftly.
